What are some great double-click Excel shortcuts?
Double-clicking in Excel is like lighting dynamite — it tends to “explode” or expand things.
Here are my favorite double-click shortcuts — what about you?
AutoFit: Double click on the edge of a column (or row) to automatically resize it to the widest (or tallest) column (or row) (you can do a similar thing with the bottom of the formula bar)
Auto Fill: Double click on fill handle to automatically copy down a formula or shoot a series down a column
Edit cell / formula: (lands you where cursor is positioned)
Worksheet tab names: double-click on the tab to edit tab name
Pivot table: double-click cell to “explode out” the detail underlying it
Here are some others:
Charting: double-click on chart element to edit it (and/or get dialog box)
Ribbon: double-click on any tab header to hide the ribbon
Navigation: double-click on cell borders to jump in that direction (e.g., click on right border to jump to the right, like Ctrl+→)
Format painter: double-click to be able to paint multiple selections (hit ESC to exit)
Window: double-click top border to maximize window or shrink to mid-size
